You are not meant to go through life alone. You were created to be in relationship -- with God and others. Small groups are safe places where you can be known and know others, grow in understanding of and love for God, and enjoy companionship on the path of following Christ.

Small groups are for everyone! Whether you are single or married, new to Maranatha or a life-long member, just starting out as an adult or have an empty nest, there is a place for you. Some groups are intergenerational and co-ed while others are comprised of others in the same life stage.

Everything we do together in small groups is for the ultimate purpose of abiding in Christ and participating in his mission of making disciples (John 15, 20:21; Mt. 28:18-20)

Small Groups exist to help you grow in relationship with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and understand the Good News of Jesus

  • Grounded in Scripture: Studying the Bible is how we come to know who God is, who we are in relation to him, and his purposes in the world he is restoring.
  • Founded on Christ: We seek to keep Jesus central in our convictions, affections, and conversations.
  • Powered by Prayer: Small groups are safe places to share the ups and downs of life and join with other believers in prayer.
  • Small Groups exist to give you opportunities to encourage fellow believers in their spiritual growth and be equipped to lead people to Jesus.

  • Intentional in Discipleship: Growing as a follower of Jesus who helps others follow Jesus happens best in long-term relationships, not programs.
  • Committed to Evangelism: We welcome people at any point in their spiritual journey because small groups are safe places for people curious about God to ask questions and learn about him.
  • Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others. 2 Tim. 2:2b

I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. 1 Cor 15:3

Small groups exist to help you love God more deeply through serving others

  • Responding in Worship: We love God more fully as we learn to give our whole selves in service to him.
  • Characterized by Love: We make God known as we serve fellow group members, our families, neighbors, and community.
