• Cody grew up in Appleton, WI and spent most of his time outside as an avid outdoorsman and was involved in ministry right out of high school. He went to school at Trinity College in Deerfield, IL and spent most of his college summers as a guide in the Boundary Waters and the Rocky Mountain National Park. He holds a Master’s of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School where he met his wife Amber. They have four children, Kaylin, Autumn, Nicole, and Grace.

Prior to moving to Rice Lake he served in the area as pastor at Arrowhead Bible Camp in New Auburn, WI. For eight years the family came to Maranatha and treasured the people of the church who were characterized by love. At the end of 2011 Cody was called to Washington State where he served as the pastor of Crossway Church in Port Orchard just across the Puget Sound from Seattle.

Overall, during his 25 years of ministry, Cody has been active in preaching periodically at various conferences and ministering in many countries including: Bolivia, England, Chad, China, the Philippines and others. He is also a member of the Evangelical Theological Society where he enjoys engaging in deep thought leading to knowing God and loving devotion to Him.

He has a love for God, this is seen in his preaching, and a love for people, seen in his involvement in our community.  Maranatha loves the people of the Rice Lake area and, as for the Kargus family, they are excited to know and serve the Lord by equipping others to do the same, bringing glory to God.
